Nominations for each award category are submitted by The CFDA Fashion Awards Guild. The CFDA is basically an invitation only network (#exclusive) comprised of top fashion retailers, journalists, stylists, influencers and over 450 designers. Making it basically the most powerful group of peeps in the fashion world!
The CFDA was founded in 1962 by Eleanor Lambert, a true force in the fashion world. In 2001, an award was created in her name to give special recognition to other industry influencers.
This year’s CFDA awards was one of the best and most exciting yet! The awards all went to the best in the business and innovative designers and icons, like Beyoncé, #yasss, who delivered a very heart warming story about her family and the early stages of her career after receiving the Fashion Icon Award.
The night was filled with fashion, great performances, and an absolutely amazing tribute to David Bowie.
