*Dior Names First Female Creative Director *

Oh my gosh, oh my gosh, OH MY GOSH!!!!! We are jumping for joy! Christian Dior has finally filled the shoes of Raf Simons, and it is by our fav Valentino designer, Maria Grazia Chiuri. Please excuse while we go pop some champs and celebrate!

Okay we’re back! According to WWD, her first designs as the creative director for Dior will hit the runway this fall for the spring 2017 ready-to-wear season. We can only imagine the beautiful, feminine, and dainty pieces she will dream up.

After the split between Raf and Dior that broke our hearts, Dior studio directors Serge Ruffieux and Lucie Meier took over the designs for the past four seasons.

Now we all know about the tragic farewells we recently had in the fashion world, aside from Raf’s departure. Lanvin and Alber Elbaz parted ways, Hedi Slimane left Saint Laurent, yes we are a little traumatized over here. Buttt the ever-changing industry of fashion will be seeing new designs from all three houses and their designers for Spring 2017, as Bouchra Jarra takes the reins of Lanvin and Anthony Vaccarello of Saint Laurent.

Maria Grazia Chiuri and Pierpaolo Piccioli have worked alongside each other for countless years, first at Fendi then at Valentino. This however, seems to be a whole new chapter for Maria as she steps out on her own and also as she becomes the first woman to ever head the French fashion house that is Christian Dior. #GirlPower
