There is no denying that the 90’s are officially back! Frosted tips and mood rings may not currently be the rage, but we’ve got five trends that prove 90’s fashion has taken over 2017.

Chokers

While necklaces have always been a popular accessory, the choker has recently returned as a statement piece of jewelry! Kate Winslet and Victoria Beckham aka Posh Spice sported this trend constantly in the 90’s. Our fashion ‘it girl’ Gigi Hadid has brought back this accessory necessity in 2017. We continue to see them popularized and being sold among a multitude of clothing stores. Whether sporting a tassel, layered with other necklaces or just a single band, the choker is back in action and better than ever.

Denim on Denim

This fashion trend has gone from fashion-don’t to fashion-do once again. Denim on denim might have been taboo in the 2000’s, but it has definitely made a reappearance. Stars like Gwen Stefani and Selena Gomez are making noticeable outings in this ensemble. Resembling the famous outing of Brittany Spears in an all denim dress and Jennifer Aniston as Rachel Greene on Friends. Today denim jackets, jeans, and skirts are again a popular style. They are easily dressed up or down and can be accessorized with any shoe or top!

Velvet Everything

Velvet has returned and it doesn’t look like it’s going to leave anytime soon. The Spice Girls and Winona Ryder were the first to popularize this trend in the 90’s. Now, it has returned with celebrities like Katy Perry and Kim Kardashian covered in the soft fabric. Velvet dresses have made an immense impact and are perfect for layering over shirts or under jackets. Beyond just dresses, this trend has also taken over shirts, shoes, jewelry, and even pants!

Slip Dresses Layered Over T-Shirts

Possibly the most perfect option for those who can’t decide if they want to wear a dress or a shirt—now you can choose both! This resurgence of this cute and comfortable style will have you feeling like Alicia Silverstone as Cher in Clueless. Even Kendall Jenner has been taking the fashion world by storm this year while rocking this 90’s original fashion.

High-Waisted Bottoms

One of the most popular 90’s trends that’s back in full force undoubtedly due to their powers of not only slimming your waistline but also elongating the appearance of your legs is high-waisted bottoms. What more could a girl want from a pair of pants?! Fashion babes of today are all rocking this trend as if they were Kelly Kapowski on Saved by the Bell.
